NY Premiere of "September Issue"
8/20/2009 09:45:00 AM Posted by Christina
Vera Wang looked effortlessly chic in a grey tank, black tiered skirt and statement accessories. Love her style.
Tory Burch looked colorfully elegant in a purple jewel-toned frock and black gladiators. The pink fringy bag...eh.
Rachel Roy looked absolutely stunning in an all neutral look with a statement gold-link necklace. She always looks classic and fabulous!
Jessica White took a chance with this gold jewel-tone strapless frock and contrasting pink-and-white wrap sandals.
Jewel-toned frocks must have been the rule of thumb for the evening. Cynthia Rowley graced the showing in this poufy-sleeved blue jewel-toned dress, with simple yet edgy accessories. I would definitely rock this look.
Chanel Iman looked fresh, flirty and gorgeous in this white strapless dress and metallic accesories. Love it.
I am loving Cassie's fashion choices lately. She showed up in an edgy black pants jumpsuit, black booties and hot pink nails. She is wearing the all black look quite well.
Alexa Chung looked fab in this off-white sheer number and contrasting black booties and a pop of color with a blue clutch. Simply chic.
And Miss Anna Wintour made an appearance in her usual age-apropriate, yet effortlessly stylish frock and neutral accessories.

Diddy, Cassie and Zac Posen looked hot at the after party!
Just so you know, the premiere for regular viewers is September 11th. If you're a New Yorker, the documentary will begin showing August 28th. Can't wait!

Jean Paul Gaultier Next in Line for Target
10/23/2009 09:14:00 AM Posted by Christina
WWD reports that French designer, Jean Paul Gaultier will produce the next capsule collection with Target's Designer Collaborations. The collection will launch March 7 (probably in NY first) through April 11th.
Gaultier is known for his risque pieces and daring silhouettes. Jourdan Dunn was spotted on his spring '10 runway sporting her baby bump in a chic way.
The spring '10 collection was undeniably fab, by the way. The wide range of military chic mixed with urban denim fab, and an ethnic motif, embodied this season's collection with a neutral color palette of various textures.
I am totally looking forward to this capsule collection with Target. And you know there will be a preview of the pieces before they hit stores, so stay tuned. When they pop up, you will be the first to know!

Fashion Week Spring '10: Alexander Wang
9/13/2009 10:20:00 AM Posted by Christina
There was a buzzing frenzy surrounding all that is Alexander Wang, from the show to the after-party last night. And with good reason. Alex Wang has done it again, landing a sporty, sexy trendsetting collection, with a football chic theme. The it-girl wore a long, messy braid and knee-high socks with the calf cut out. I especially admire the tighty-whitey-type sports bra top. And I am loving the accessories, from the zip-up peep-toe booties and football-esque clutches in brown and black. The eyewear did make its way on the runway, as well.
What I admire most about the Alexander Wang, is that although he has been setting trends since his first collection, every piece is timeless in its own right, donning a effortless approach to cool, comfy and oh so chic.
The spring collection consisted of day and night pieces, with a neutral color palette of red, beige, blue, camel, grey, khaki, green, white and black.
See more of the fabulous collection after the jump.

Fashion Week Spring '10: Ohne Titel
9/12/2009 07:33:00 PM Posted by Christina
And the best part of the show was meeting Kate Lanphear!
I asked her for a photo and she replied, "Of course!" She was so sweet and looked fab in a teal top, black blazer, black skinny jeans and black platform boots. The reason why she is my style icon!
Here's what I wore the shows today...

Purple Glamour Style Guide: How to Make Your Legs Look Longer
8/24/2009 11:56:00 AM Posted by Christina
Tip #1. Don't be afraid to show some leg.
The more leg you show, the longer your legs will appear to be. Whether it's form-fitting or baggy, in a dress or skirt, the above-the-knee look (especially paired with heels) will give you a longer, leaner appearance.Try these:
Tip #2. Skinny jeans in a dark wash will give you a slim look, and are perfect with a loose-fit top or blazer.
Dress your dark wash skinny jeans with a simple white tee and animal print pumps, or a dress them up with a glitzy top and studded platform booties. Either way, you can't lose.Try these:
Tip #3: Belt your frock to give you balance and accentuate your lower (and better might I add) half.
This can also help if you have a short torso (as I do) and draws more attention to your waist, hips, legs and fabulous footwear!
Try these:
Or just grab your favorite belt and wrap it around your favorite sundress!
Tip #4. Create an outift in one color (preferrably a neutral color.)
The rule of thumb (especially in the fashion industry) is that all black always works. I beg to differ. You can wear a whole outfit in one color in neutrals (navy blue, black, khaki green, tan, etc.) It gives off a uniformed look, and draws the eye up and down to give you a taller, leaner appearance. Since jumpsuits are a huge trend this season, this is an effortless way to achieve the look.
Avoid bright colors in this case. Black makes you look smaller, brights make you look larger.
Try these:
Tip #5. A nude shoe always does the trick.
If you don't want to put as much effort into making your legs look longer and leaner, a nude or flesh-toned shoe gives your legs an elongated appearance.Try these:
That's all for now! Let me know how it works : )

Summer Lovin' : Stripes
5/21/2009 10:26:00 AM Posted by Christina
The stripes trend is one of the strongest of the summer season. Although the focus has been on loose-fit pieces through the rocker and menswear-inspired trends, preppy chic is still in.From a striped blazer to a striped pencil skirt, you can wear stripes any way you want (although it is best to wear vertical stripes than horizontal, if you catch my drift.)
Pair your striped piece with other solid pieces for balance--stray from mixing patterns.
You can incorporate other trends into the preppy look to add your own chic twist. Pair your striped shorts with a loose-fit tank and a 3/4 sleeve blazer. Or a fitted striped skirt with a solid bare tank.
Don't forget about accessories! Keep the accessories to a minimum, especially for day wear--you don't want the look to seem forced. Pair your bright stripes with neutral accessories like bangles, simple studs or a statement necklace and nothing else.

What's Your Favorite Accessory?
4/20/2009 09:45:00 AM Posted by Christina
Mine depends on the season, but spring I definitely need statement shoes and a statement jacket or cardigan.During this time of the year, I live in a t-shirt and jeans, so a couple pairs of wedges, platforms and pumps give my outfit a trendy boost.
A bright or neutral cardigan, or jacket gets the job done as well.
What are some of your spring must-haves?

Off Fit: Parisian Style
4/23/2009 09:41:00 AM Posted by Christina
This Off Fit is inspired by European style--specifically, Paris. Through research, I found that Parisian style embodies youthful modernity, with a touch of edge and effortlessness. There is a debate on whether Paris is the fashion capital of the world, compared to NYC. However, a lot of NYC's fashion influence is inspired by Parisian style (think gladiators, tights with shorts, fur coats as a winter staple, boots with almost everything, etc.)
Neutral-colored wardrobes are ubiquitous there, with a pop of color here and there. Carine Roitfeld is the epitome of Parisian style to the epitome of NY's Anna Wintour.

Fashion Week Spring '10: Rebecca Taylor
9/19/2009 08:54:00 AM Posted by Christina
Effortless ultra-feminine glamour is the epitome of the Rebecca Taylor spring collection. A neutral color palette with a pop of color, gave each look a whimsical edge. From ruffled dresses to metallic shorts, this collection is a chic variation of florals, soft, pretty textures, and mixed prints. Almost every look had flowy accents, either paired with a tailored, more fitting separate, or a cropped contrast.
Accessories were minimal, with no jewelry and platforms packed with a lot punch. The shoes almost played down the look, with a simple, floral pattern and a casual appeal.
The more I stare at each look, the more I get a demure vintage vibe. And I love it.
I can totally see myself in this look to the left. The opaque-like shades, loose-fit, cropped, elbow-baring sweater, with the belted metallic shorts. I imagine I would wear this effortlessly glamorous look at an event where everyone was dressed up--with my hair slicked back, no earrings, and a killer clutch.
More photos after the jump.
