Fashion Week Spring '10: Rachel Comey

The skort returns. Rachel Comey's spring collection offers a sexy tomboy vibe, with a vintage appeal.

The collection mixes prints and textures, pairing neutrals with bold colors, which seems to be the prominent trend this season.

And I can't get enough of the tie-waist safari jacket and ethnic print skirt with the socks and Mary Jane platforms. I can so see myself rocking that look (for less, of course.)

Big safari pockets were on almost every piece, like the skort at left and the blue tank below.

I appreciate designers who create effortlessly chic ready-to-wear that actually looks ready-to-wear. Yes, creativity is important, however, it is nice to see creative clothing crafted in looks that you and I can actually wear on a regular day, or night, without looking overdone.
